During the next 2 years, Ocotillo will be evaluating the use of a webconferencing software package called Elluminate.
Elluminate provides synchronous learning opportunities including voice over Internet, web cam video, instant messaging, polling, creation of breakout rooms and the ability to archive and review the sessions.
During the Fall 2006 semester, a group of faculty will be selected to participate in a pilot of the software. Elluminate will be used primarily for academic purposes and its use will be studied.
It is the hope that this study will result in a recommendation as to whether this learning technology is needed by Maricopa and whether this particular solution is ideal.
