Elluminate Project Objectives

 

Elluminate specific:

 

• Identify academic uses of web conferencing software
• Develop best practices for administering web conferencing software
• Identify limitations of Elluminate as a web conferencing tool
• Conduct a cost-benefit analysis to determine if Elluminate is worth the cost
• Determine the scalability of the project
• Analyze the cost effectiveness of Elluminate as compared to other web conferencing software

 

Student:

 

• Identify student benefits of using Elluminate
• Measure student attitude toward Elluminate compared to other modes of delivery
• Assess whether Elluminate use impacts retention, attendance, etc.
• Collect student perceptions of the impact of the use of web-conferencing in f2f, hybrid and online classes on academic achievement
• Investigate the learning curve for student to become comfortable with the technology
• Determine whether students are more readily able to access services, including tutoring and their faculty.

 

Instructor:

 

• Investigate faculty satisfaction regarding the logistical use of Elluminate
• Collect faculty perceptions of the impact of the use of web-conferencing in f2f, hybrid and online classes on academic achievement
• Investigate the learning curve for faculty to become comfortable with the technology
• Assess the quality and preparation of the training program for faculty
• Develop prerequisites for faculty use of Elluminate

• Identify competing colleges’ application of web conferencing software
• Analyze the applicability and ease of using Elluminate for professional development opportunities
